Claims Advocate Team Lead

One Claim Solutions is a fast-growing insurance billing company based in Gilbert, AZ. Our contractors are the backbone of America–small, independent businesses that repair homes damaged by floods and fire. These businesses hire OCS to help with insurance claims billing. We use our expertise in working with property casualty insurance companies to help contractors get paid more, faster so they can run their businesses better.
The primary function of the Claims Advocate Team Lead is to be a top performer in negotiating and settling claims with insurance adjusters, while also leading a small team to do the same. In this role, you’ll set the example on delivering results and coach your team to reach their highest potential. Your team will aim to get paid as much as possible, as quickly as possible on claims. OCS pays a generous performance bonus to team leads that deliver results on a quarterly basis!
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Be a player-coach, setting the bar and skillfully coaching direct reports to improve
- Plan, prioritize and balance workload across the team
- Oversee settlement process of assigned claims on behalf of contractors
- Evaluate offers from adjusters, then provide justification for additional payments or settles for awards based on careful analysis
- Review claim and invoice documentation, insurance policies and internal protocols and strategies to improve justifications and payment outcomes
- Identify and elevate early settlement opportunities to ensure an overall timely and appropriate settlement
- Build positive relationships by going above and beyond with customer service, ensuring that all questions, cancellations, and confirmations are handled appropriately
- Keep accurate and effective records of claims actions taken, using CRM and other software
- Meet daily qualitative and quantitative targets for yourself and your team, and achieve all objectives for service, productivity, and quality
- Leverage data and insights to recommend and influence process improvements
Candidate profile and capabilities
- Demonstrated ability as a strong performer in insurance claims billing and management
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead small teams
- Strong negotiation capabilities
- Attention to detail with ability to read, absorb and critically evaluate insurance policies
- Professional communication, both written and oral
- Problem solver with a high degree of perseverance and creativity to find solutions
- Self-directed with strong work ethic and ability to manage a high volume of claims
- Eager and curious to learn new things
- Ability to navigate conflict and de-escalate tension to create a professional, problem-solving oriented work environment
- Results orientation with focus on activities that deliver outcomes and meet KPI targets
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 4 years’ experience with property casualty insurance claims as an adjuster or similar role
- IICRC, AIC or similar claims designation is preferred
